Bored Indoors & Clicking a YouTube Tutorial
It all started when the world paused during the COVID-19 lockdown. Trapped inside with endless spare hours, I was searching for something tactile to do with my hands. That afternoon, I clicked on a beginner crochet tutorial on YouTube out of simple, restless curiosity.
I picked up some spare yarn and an inexpensive hook. At first, my tension was all wrong, loops were uneven, and I unraveled the same chain five times over. But when the first finished flower took shape, something clicked. The repetitive rhythm of hook and yarn became meditative, satisfying, and deeply addictive.
Schoolyard Buzz: Friends Began Placing Orders
As school resumed, I carried my little crochet creations with me — colorful glasses charms, cute keychains, and tiny desk accessories. My friends in tenth and eleventh grade took notice immediately: “Wait, you made this yourself? Can you make one for me in lavender?”

Today, it operates with actual bespoke client orders, curated color palettes, seasonal drops, and structured packaging. Balancing university coursework, campus leadership, and Stitch & Loop has reinforced that authentic business is built on trust, consistency, and artistic integrity.
